I waited four years for this punchline.

So, there we have it. The Answer. I knew I didn't want Edy this week, because it was important to sort of reflect the first week's stuff (the names are all sort of reflections of that first week, and counting back to this). I had a planned page after this that goes into details of the fates of these characters, but I decided it was more fitting to leave it on this note. But for those who are curious:

-Cappy and Jean graduate and go to college. Jean majors in computer technolography (you heard me) and Cappy in film.
-Tee takes a trip to Burning Man the summer after graduation but goes missing. For years after, the others receive mysterious postcards from him at an address that no one seems to be able to locate.
-Milton finally wins a prize for his robotics. Unfortunately the robot then kills the judges and must be put down.
-Creepy Todd is sued by various women for sexual harrassment.
-The Time Hobo is still traveling, out there, somewhere...
-The Golem eventually meets Gary in college, where it becomes a popular member of various sports teams, and lauded for his utter lack of exhaustion.
-Dan is also a popular member of the football team and thinks the Golem is just swell.
-The Imp is taken on as a mascot. They think it's the Golem's pet.
-Edy majors in writing and becomes an accomplished journalist. She writes a novel about an alchemist.
-Gary majors in biology, eventually going into genetic engineering. He thereby continues to play God in his daily life. But at least he's making friends.

I hope you've all enjoyed this series. I sure enjoyed working on it. Well... most of the time, haha. If you're eager for some college adventure, I'll be working on Power Rush more from now on. Though I may have something special planned soon.

But for now... I think I'm due to take Gary's new approach and go outside.

wow. I was wondering how you'd wrap everything up in six panels. this is brilliant.

Those last two panels make me really sad for some reason.

@Xiam: That's a very long time. Though I think it was timed perfectly.

If I was into any science course it would either be forensics or some genetic something. Genes intrigue me very much.

Good for you, Gary!

oh wait what about Edy's imp?

No but really ohman, that hit me right in the kokoro. That was beautiful

It's sad, ironic, and funny but also very interesting and open in a way.

EDIT:
WAIT DID YOU JUST SLIP SOMETHING THROUGH OUR RADAR AND MAKE HIS ALCHEMY SHIRT UNCOLORED (or is that really grey lol)

@Guest: Thanks. I worried I'd have to cram all the dialogue in there, too, but I think it turned out alright.
@arkcine: Thanks! I did my best, haha.
@Tailsgod: :D
@SassyThePokemonLover: Yeah, the last two panels make me a bit sad too. But it's good though! His interests have moved on.

@kuroi_hitsuji: Edy's imp turns out to be a savant for words. She uses her as a dictionary/thesaurus when she needs a word she can't think of.

I was also thinking that at some point the two Imps run away together to a candy shop. Or a candy factory?

The Moon shirt was always silver. But I did use it this week so as not to catch on. Was either this or the white Mercury shirt. :D

So that's it? This is the final comic then?

Reply kuroi_hitsuji, August 24th, 2013, 12:14 am

@Xiam: man dude you're just opening up a world of free-to-imagine to your fans eh

Can't believe this is now the second of your series I've followed through to the end... @_@ So good! The last panels do kind of make me sad though.... But at least he kept going with it, and science, and all that. o3o

Clearly following you to Power Rush though xD

Reply Xiam, August 25th, 2013, 7:11 pm

@Geniusguy445: Yep, that's it. I'll be working on Power Rush from here. I have other ideas for things, but for now, just that, and I'll announce others on there if I ever get around to them.

@kuroi_hitsuji: I might actually do something with these storylines at a later date. I'll probably follow the "real time" thing and not do them for 4 years. It'll give me time to build up quality. It'll be like a reunion special! :D

@frozen-ozzie: Aw... yeah. Thanks for sticking with me! I promise, Power Rush will (hopefully) go on for much longer.

Prolly last comment on this comic, but:

1. What an ending. "huh."

2. You're getting progressively more uplifting. Melody & Macabre -> Gary the Alchemist -> Power Rush.

Reply Xiam, August 30th, 2013, 12:25 pm

@Geniusguy445: More uplifting in what way? Tone? Yeah, perhaps. Sort of a sign of personal improvement, I guess. Escape from depression, maybe.

Though I keep wanting to exorcise some more demons with other depressing works, haha. But Power Rush will not be one of them! Well... besides a few minor things. The backstory isn't too happy.

@Xiam: Art can allow you get out what bad/unanswered stuff you have in you, I can testify.

Reply noeryu (Guest), September 7th, 2013, 2:38 am

I don't guess I could find a hard copy of this anywhere?

Reply Xiam, September 8th, 2013, 4:39 pm

@noeryu: Nothing I've thought about. I mean, if I knew how, and had enough people wanting it, I suppose I could... this is pretty much it for the moment though.

Reply PersephoneWatching, October 13th, 2013, 6:41 am

I only stopped reading comics for a couple of months.

What happened while I was gone? It's all over :-(

Reply Xiam, October 14th, 2013, 6:00 pm

@PersephoneWatching: That's pretty much what happened. Sorry for the ending-ness, I just felt it was time to move on. :(

I might have an idea for a sequel miniseries at some point that I'll tack on here as an epilogue, but not for a while (due to keeping it realtime, and also wanting to script it properly). But for now, Power Rush!

I'm lurking here cuz I told a friend about it. This pulls at my heart strings upto now and I ended up reading the first comic page just to appreciate it
